Home Energy Assistance Programs

La Casa de Don Pedro helps eligible low income households in Essex County manage the costs of home heating and energy. Financial assistance is provide through the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Universal Service Fund (USF) programs provided by the NJ Public Utility Board.

LA CASA DE DON PEDRO IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.

La Casa also provides Weatherization Assistance to eligible families to help conserve energy and reduce energy costs for renters, homeowners, and owners of multi-family buildings. Energy conservation measures can include heating unit repairs/replacement, insulation and other measures.

The Senior Citizen’s Heating & Cooling Program reaches low-income seniors and medically eligible individuals facing an emergency heating or cooling  situation by helping replace boilers,  installing cooling units, or providing emergency fuel.
