15th Annual National Latino AIDS Awareness Day

15th Annual National Latino AIDS Awareness Day | October 15 2017

La Casa de Don Pedro’s National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD) event is a free, entertaining event held to raise awareness about the severity of HIV/AIDS in the community and encourage advocacy. La Casa’s NLAAD event in Newark is one of thousands held across the country to foster community engagement in the fight against HIV/AIDS. NLAAD is free and open to the public.

This year, it was all about FUTBOL!

Teams were invited to register for a soccer tournament at The Waterfront, 2 Grafton Avenue in Newark that was held on October 15th. In order to enter, athletes got tested for HIV.  And, all who watch the game were entered to win great raffle prizes, including round trip airfare for any international location, valued at $1000.  The winner of the soccer tournament won $2,000!
