La Casa de Don Pedro, one of Newark’s premier community based social service and community development organizations is hosting its annual fundraiser event La Casa es Su Casa. The cocktail reception will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at The New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

With Yaima Crespo, Telemundo 47 New York, News Anchor as the evening’s emcee La Casa es Su Casa will celebrate immigration and honor American Friends Service Committee, Senator Robert Menendez, and Hispanic Federation for fostering fair and humane treatment of immigrants through advocacy, direct service, and policy development. Also to be recognized is Grizel Ubarry, President of G.Ubarry Inc. for achieving 30 years serving as an agent of change helping to transform communities. A silent auction and raffle will ensure a lively event while testimonials from Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and original poetry by children will reflect on heritage and immigration struggles and successes.

The event is made possible through support from sponsors: PSE&G, Hispanic Federation, Prudential, The Fund for New Jersey, Verizon, Horizon NJ Health, Jonathan Rose Companies, McCarter & English, LLP, NeighborWorks America, North Jersey Federal Credit Union, PNC Bank, Popular Community Bank, Rutgers University – Newark, St. Michael’s Medical Center, and WithumSmith+Brown.

“La Casa es Su Casa” is the first of four fundraising events in 2015.  To purchase tickets visit https://lacasanwk.givezooks.com/events/2015-la-casa-es-su-casa or call 973.482.8312.
