Home Energy Assistance Programs

La Casa provides assistance to eligible low and moderate income households in Essex County to help manage the costs of home heating and energy under the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program and Universal Service Fund programs provided by the NJ Public Utility Board.

La Casa also provides Weatherization Assistance to eligible families to help conserve energy and reduce renter and homeowner energy costs.  Weatherizing homes and rental units can include heating units repairs/replacement, insulation and other measures. Home heating oil emergency services are also available to senior citizens in addition to other potential assistance for medical eligible households.

The Senior Citizen’s Heating & Cooling Program reaches low-income seniors facing an emergency heating or cooling  situation by helping replace boilers or  installing cooling units.

Residents of other New Jersey counties can click HERE for a listing of local agencies that administer the LIHEAP, USF, Weatherization, and Senior Citizen’s Heating & Cooling Programs.

PAGE is geared to families facing an economic hardship but who may not financially qualify for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.  The program information such as eligibility, required documents, and the application are now available by downloading them on this page just to your right.  La Casa de Don Pedro administers the program for residents living in Essex and Union counties.

Please be advised that the Temporary Relief for Utility Expense (TRUE) program is no longer available. The PAGE program serves as its replacement.
