La Casa de Don Pedro is a U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development [HUD] Certified Housing Counseling agency with trained staff to assist families confronting foreclosure. Homeowners are provided individualized assessments, counseling and assistance to prevent the lost of their homes. Legal services are also available through related programs and collaborations. Counselors work directly with clients, lenders and/or service agents to delay, mitigate or prevent foreclosure.
Upon a client’s first meeting, the counselor undergoes an assessment to determine needs and the program a client may qualify for. These may include Making Home Affordable, NJ Homekeeper (Hardest Hit Fund) for unemployed borrowers, New Jersey Mediation Program, or a general modification request.
Counseling is only available through setting up a meeting beforehand; walk-ins are not accepted.
We strongly encourage that clients come prepared to their first meeting, bringing with them the required documents and budget. This way the first meeting will be more productive and the counselor can immediately move forward with your case.
