January 2022 Service Updates & Center Openings

Face Masks and social distancing are required at ALL La Casa de Don Pedro locations at all times. If you haven’t gotten vaccinated, please get vaccinated. If you are due for a booster shot, please get your booster. Learn more about vaccination and testing locations here.

While we experience the impact of the Covid-19 Omicron variant, La Casa’s programs and services are adjusted as follows:

All Early Childhood Education programs are currently offered remotely. La Casa’s preschools, Early Head Start, Head Start are aligned with Newark Public Schools schedules, which currently will be virtual through January 14th.  Families are invited to pick up lunch and snacks daily. Based on NPS’ guidelines, we anticipate resuming in-person school on January 18.

23 Broadway Youth and Family Center and our Family Success Center programs are open to the public. Covid-19 health and safety guidelines are strongly enforced. If you are sick, please do not come to our center.

We are now offering our in-person study hall program for students to attend school virtually at our 23 Broadway Center. If you are interested please contact us at 973-483-2703. Our 21st Century After School Enrichment Program is virtual. The afterschool enrichment program at 23 Broadway is currently closed.

76 Clinton Avenue is closed to the public until Wednesday, January 5.

Home energy assistance programs are offered in person at 317 Roseville Avenue. Our Home Energy Satellite office at PSE&G at 80 Park Plaza, Newark is open to the first 50 clients daily.  Covid-19 health and safety guidelines are strongly enforced.
